You might recognize her as the attitude-toting lawyer on the hit series “The Practice”. She and Rosie O’Donnell, along with other actors and actresses, have revolutionized the entertainment industry by showing everyone that you don’t have to have a size “2” waist to have the ability and talent to act. In this book, Camryn talks about her childhood in Peoria, Illinois, her “conversations” with her fat, her first confrontation about her weight and acting at NYU, and much more.

The foreword, written by Rosie O’Donnell, is what got me interested in this book. All the ideas that are written about in this book are very common and frequently reflected thoughts. This book is a must-read for any over-weight person who has gone through the trials and tribulations of being fat in a world that only accepted people who wore single-digit sizes. I do want to warn everyone that there is foul language in it, but it wouldn’t have made the same kind of impact without it. Being a 19-year-old freshman in college, I can definitely relate to the feelings of animosity that Camryn had towards her teachers. Most of my problems happened in Kindergarten – 12th grade, but the feelings of resentment she had towards her college professors who were unorthodox enough to make cruel remarks about her weight is something that I also felt. I love this book.
