This is a touching and loving story about man who develops AIDS and his partner who is always there for him. Mr. Monette does a great credit to his partner, Roger, in this book. Mr. Monette shows the love that he had for Roger throughout this book. Mr. Monette describes how he and Roger dealt with their friends' deaths and many famous celebrities' deaths from AIDS. Mr. Monette talks about the several hospital trips and different types of tests that Roger and himself go through. Mr. Monette does a great job in describing what he and Roger went through. He does an excellent job in telling about the medications that were just coming out in the 1980's. I enjoyed how Mr. Monette was able to describe his feelings and his grief about Roger and his illness. You could truly feel what Mr. Monette was going through at the time. This is an excellent book that shows the grief and hurt that people go through when their loved ones have a terminal illness.
