Nemesis - The True Story
Aristotle Onassis, Jackie O, and the Love Triangle That Brought Down the Kennedys
By Peter Evans

I thought I had read enough about the Kennedys and Jackie's relationship and marriage to Onassis that I knew all about them. I was in for a shock! Peter Evans has done a credible job of presenting the appalling secrets of the Onassis/Kennedy relationship in this book. His investigations reveal whole new aspects of a history that has been re-hashed numerous times. The revelations of the promiscuous relationships among the rich and famous presented in this book are simply staggering.

The feud between Onassis and Bobby Kennedy started in the 1950s and escalated over the next twenty years, climaxing when Aristotle Onassis allegedly provided the money to have Bobby assassinated. Evans' premise that Onassis money paid for Bobby Kennedy's assassination, and the evidence he presents to back it up is convincing. He has researched exhaustively and interviewed countless people for this presentation.

The secrets of the ultra-wealthy are difficult for anyone who doesn't walk in that social circle to understand. It seems that everyone had multiple affairs. I didn't realize that Jackie was so promiscuous, and that she began an affair with Ari as she was recovering from the death of her child, Patrick, and well before JFK was assassinated.

The Cast of Characters is unequaled: JFK, RFK, Ari, Jackie, Lee Radziwill, Marilyn Monroe, Maria Callas, Gore Vidal, Truman Capote, William Holden, and many other famous and infamous newsmakers. Beautifully written, it lays bare the ugly morals of the elite of our generation. I admit to having been envious of their beauty and wealth...until I read this book.

It is an exciting book that reads like good fiction, and manages to come up with surprises in every chapter.
