Grace Is Enough

by Willie Aames & Maylo Upton-Aames with Carolyn Stanford Goss

The chapters in Grace is Enough alternate between Willie's life and Maylo's life, giving an in-depth view of what their childhoods were like and the effect it had on them into their adulthood. This book details the trials, tribulations, and the wounds they each endured during their lives and the faith that brought them healing and hope.

I applaud the honesty with which Willie and Maylo tell their stories - without such honesty this book wouldn't carry the profound punch that it does. I was particularly touched by Maylo's story of her childhood abuse, her faith in God, and her ability to overcome such a past. Willie's past was also intriguing to read about. While watching Eight is Enough I never imagined the demons he fought, and I admire his ability to trust in God and overcome his past.

Bravo Willie and Maylo! Thank you for sharing your stories and giving hope to so many others. And thank you for your honesty! It is truly a choice each and every day to remain hopeful in the Lord through addiction, illness, depression, loss, and grief. God has not promised us an easy life or wealth, but He has promised us His unconditional love, His forgiveness, and His awesome grace.
