I loved this audio! This is one of the most fun recordings I have had the opportunity to review. Not so much because of the subject matter, which is very compelling, but because of the charm of the reader. Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos.com, Inc. is masterful in his writing style. He is fun to listen to. There, I did it too, finished a sentence with a preposition, something he did often just to annoy his English teachers. He writes the way he talks, which I appreciate. And who doesn’t love the Zappos commercials?

Hsieh will fascinate you with his stories and motivate you with his entrepreneurial spirit. He has come a long way in his short years and accomplished more than many have in a lifetime. He was born to build; and build he has. From worm farms to buttons and on to turning down a buy-out deal from Microsoft that anyone would have taken in a second. Why? Because, it’s never about the money, but somehow, he keeps making more.

Hsieh says in the beginning that this is not an auto-biography, and I suppose in the strictest sense it is not. But he outlines his entire career so I am not sure what is missing. Definitely not his mistakes, which he includes with much delight. Listen to this audiobook with a keen ear, a warm heart, and a enthusiastic spirit. It will resonate with you long after the last CD is ejected.
