Love the accent! Author Hitchens is an intellectual’s intellectual; and yes, maybe even controversial. This book is a personal history of a man of many colors. Fans of Hitch will be enthralled, but if you don’t know who he is and really don’t care, you might just pass this one up and not regret it. I found it entertaining and yet rather narcissistic as Hitch is all about Hitch; his political views, his personal history, and his bawdy conversations about life. I found his life-story engaging although he makes no excuses for it. And, it IS 15 CD’s worth.

The author does play protagonist throughout and challenges the reader to a debate at many a turn, if only as a friendly spar across the table over drinks and a smoke. I say, try it you might like it; it is unique and challenges you to find an agreeable stance throughout. If nothing else, you will appreciate him for his writing style. You can read his work in magazines like Vanity Fair and Atlantic Monthly.
