Linda Evan’s Recipes for Life: My Memories is very
readable because she wrote it in the short story format and not
the long drawn out memoir way. In each short story she explained
how things affected her and what she learned as she walked through
life. She told you how every person affected her in each of the
stories, and at the end she put in the recipe of the food that each
one loved. The other thing you learn about Linda Evans is she loves
to cook and with each new food she tastes, she looks for a recipe
that she can change a bit to make it her own. The recipes are from
other countries mostly because she made many friends from other
countries and when she entertained them she wanted them to feel
at home.
Linda Evans wrote a lot about her years working on “The Big
Valley” and “Dynasty”, and the many films she
did like “To Kill a Mocking Bird.” But that is not all
she wrote about. Sadly to say Linda Evans had trouble with the men
in her life. So many were infatuated with her but the relationships
would not last very long, mostly because Linda herself would fall
out of love.
How enjoyable is it? Easy reading, lots of recipes to try and an
in-depth look at her life. Now here is a quote from Linda Evans
herself: “I’m not the woman I used to be, I’m
rich in experience and looking for new and wonderful adventures
to add to this magical gift called life.”
