Ace Abbott
has a fitting name as the author of this little book, only 88 pages
but packed full of important information. Small but deadly; makes
you aware of the danger you put yourself in every time you strap
on a seat belt. While you're napping, so are they, in what is called
a power nap.
Most pilots
are Air Force retirees, and Abbott is no exception. And, of course
they have flown many hours of hard fighting aviation. But, that
kind of flying would be enough to keep you on the edge of your seat
and awake. It seems the dreariness of cross country flights is a
different story. His narrative sheds light on pilot fatigue, FAA's
disregard for duty time rules and safety.
It's a book
that will open your eyes to the world of sleep deprived pilots and
professional drivers that you may not want to know about.
