Laugh
out loud funny is all I need to say, but because this is a
review, I have to say more.
This book reminded me of my own high school diary, which after
reading 40 years later, I thought, "What on earth possessed
me"? Her letters were not only reminiscent but hilariously
humiliating, in a good way. She was definitely possessed,
as are all young girls at that age.
Any woman
who reads Rubin's book will be taken on a nostalgic trip down
boy crazy lane. I think many of her readers have also done
the same thing and that is what makes this book so enjoyable.
It's relatable.
Her audio
narrative is quite compelling as she describes herself in
terms of awe and acceptance all in one sentence. She does
an excellent job of pulling you in. In fact, when she gets
serious, which you aren't expecting, it takes you by surprise.
Thank
goodness she used aliases as her old love interests might
cringe at the thought of being the recipient of such intensity.
I'd give
it a thumbs up for originality.
