Julia Child's journey through life is anything but dull. Julia seems to take after her grandfather who at 17 followed the Gold Rush to California. She is raised in a wealthy, free spirited family. After school instead of making the choices expected of a young woman in her time, Julia makes her own choices that lead her on a path to the man of her dreams and a career that will make her a household name.

Her marriage is unusual for their time, because it is equal in all respects. Yet life is not without it's bumps, although Julia was independent, and a free thinker, she made some choices that showed she was still a woman of her time. There is a section of pictures that add greatly to the charm of the book and Julia.
