Many of us have
heard about the benefits of the Mediterranean diet, a diet
that uses olive oil for cooking and recipes using such high
protein foods as nuts and beans. We all know the benefits
of fish, vegetables and fruits, but any diet that allows me
to have wine with my meals is okay by me. Of course, I prefer
to skim through the table of contents, and one glance through
this cookbook’s index convinced me I had to have it.
The high-protein Mediterranean diet cookbook includes photos
and clear instructions using fresh ingredients. It also has
many of my favorite foods. After trying out the recipes in
this book for two weeks, I have lost a few pounds and snack
less.
I can see why this cookbook received praise from the New York
Times. The recipes, which have been culled from the outstanding
magazines published by Hearst today-- including Good Housekeeping,
Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire-- are delicious and easy to
prepare.
Of course, I have my favorites, such as Asparagus-Romano Fritatta
for breakfast; Warm Chicken- Orzo Salad, Caesar Salad and
Turkey Meatball & Escarole for lunch; and a variety of
kabobs and delectable fish dishes for dinner. Just looking
at the deserts will make your mouth water. Best of all, a
family member of mine must eat gluten-free food and these
recipes are easily adapted to that diet.
Delicious Mediterranean Diet Recipes is a fantastic
cookbook for anyone who is health conscious. It’s also
nice to have this eBook cookbook to use on the kitchen counter
or take on trips for easy reference.
