I enjoyed this simple little cookbook. I looked through the recipes and they were easy to prepare and still looked delicious. I found some interesting facts in the introduction about the author, which made the cookbook even more delectable.

Broughton had been in the military, has two sons and lives in Dallas, Texas. She wrote the book to fill a niche that was missing in the marketplace: cooking with a common sense approach to dropping fat and calories. In other words, cooking light and doing it right. The "doing it right" was the theme that was missing from other books she had read.

I gave the book to my daughter, who is also in the military. At first she thought, "Why would I want a cookbook from a mother of two boys, I'm single." But the more she looked into it, she really liked the recipes. I can't wait for the sequel. I am sure there will be one.
