Energy
Bites is a small book at only 58 pages, but it is jam-packed
with super easy, delicious, and healthy recipes, and mouth-watering
photographs.
The layout
is colorful and appealing to the eye, and the information
is presented in a clear and concise format, including pictures
and descriptions of the ingredients -- several of which will
likely be new to the reader -- and explaining the formula
and the how-to directions, followed by 15 unique recipes.
This is a book you'll want to keep handy and refer to often.
Once
you've stocked your pantry and tried a recipe or two, you
may find this concept and this book so addictive that you'll
look forward to your no-bake energy bites preparation time.
While the recipes call for a food processor, there are also
instructions for making the recipes by hand, which would,
naturally, be more time consuming, but it's nice that the
option is provided.
The favorite
in our household is the Peanut Butter and Banana Balls, also
containing dates, flax seed, chia seeds, almond meal and moringa
powder, as well as a coating of hulled hemp seeds. I've also
found that the various recipes can be altered to suit your
own taste.
The energy
bites can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator
or freezer, which is an added bonus. You could spend a long
afternoon making all different recipes and have enough to
keep you going for several weeks when stored properly.
Energy
Bites is a clever and timely book that should appeal
to the health-conscious as well as to those with busy schedules
and an always on the go lifestyle. With the current amount
of interest in super foods, high density nutrition and raw
food diets, this is a book that should garner a lot of attention
from the media. If it doesn't, I predict that word of mouth
and Internet reviews should garner enough buzz to make Energy
Bites and author Kate Turner, with Annie Nichols, into
household names everywhere!
