When
I received my review copy of this book, the first thing I
did was page through it to look at the beautifully presented
photographs. By the time I was through, I wanted to try many
of the vegetarian recipes right away. I suspect my grocery-shopping
list for the health food store will be long.
I've
been aware of Super foods for some time now, and am pleased
to report that I already had several of them in my pantry.
For example, I have Cacao, Maca, Quinoa, and Avocado. I am
so pleased with the layout of this book, the clear explanation
of the health benefits of the many ingredients of which I
was unfamiliar.
The recipes
are clear and precise, with numbered step-by-step directions,
and notations if the recipe is gluten-free, vegan, or a power
star.
As the
world becomes a bit smaller with more access to the Internet,
it is inevitable that we will learn about foods that are new
to us. "Peruvian Power Foods" is a lovely book to
introduce you to some of these. There is ample information
about where to buy the Super foods of Peru both online and
in stores. If you only add one cookbook to your collection
this year, I recommend "Peruvian Power Foods." It
is also available in Kindle format, but this is one I am thrilled
to have a physical copy of, and you may feel the same.
