Rediscovering God in America is an updated version of the 2012 hardcover edition. In the 2012 edition the Gingrichs’ took readers on a tour of America’s Capital City, Washington DC, to reveal our forefathers’ religious beliefs incorporated in the Nation's monuments. This audio version is, more or less, a condensed edition. The authors include a pdf of photos and Illustrations as well.The authors’ historical accounts with the pictures will have you seeking the original version as well as the documentary. There is nothing more fascinating than our American History.

The authors take us on tour of the capital and reveal the truth that God is a large part of our American History. They first go over a court case siting the Pledge of Allegiance (under God) is unconstitutional. The case failed. Although our American history shows God as the corner stone in all decisions made in building this country, a handful of judges believed that “Any religious weight the words may have been meant to carry has long since been lost”. Sandra Day O’Conner defended the phrase because she felt "under God” in the Pledge is meaningless. The authors help us to rediscover monuments, memorials and artifacts as they proudly share the history that comes with each one. It’s a fascinating listen. I enjoyed it so much I ordered the original book format.

The audio version is narrated by Newt and his wife, Callista. If I was forced to say who I favor, it would be both. Callista gives us a smooth, impartial narration. Newt’s narration is that of a heartfelt history professor. I came away feeling moved, renewed and proud of our forefathers. I have to say, anyone who believes not only in God but preserving our true American history will enjoy Rediscovering God in America in book or audio format and the documentaries Gingrich put together.
