Blood Blade
Skinners Series, Book 1

by Marcus Pelegrimas

Blood Blade is the beginning of a spine-tingling new series from Marcus Pelegrimas.  It is the story of vampires, werewolves and unstoppable killer shapeshifters known as Full Bloods.  Lesser shapeshifters who are converted from humans are known as Mongrels.  Full Bloods were born as they are and are virtually unstoppable.

Cole Warnecki is a video game designer.  The game he is now working on has a bug in it which keeps the game from operating properly.  He has tried several things, but the problem persists. His boss tells him to take a vacation and relax for a while.  Perhaps the solution would become clear when he returned. Cole agrees and signs up for an Alaskan hunting trip that needs to bring in another man to reduce the costs.

Cole thought he'd be with some hunters who might give him some ideas to solve his problem.  After he got up in the plane, he wondered if he would live long enough to get there.  The overloaded Cessna seemed about to break apart at any moment.  Once they landed, they headed for the hunting cabin. On the way, Cole kept his eyes on the beautiful scenery.  He saw what he thought was a huge brown bear running so fast Cole couldn't see it clearly. That was his first sighting of a Full Blood.  It wouldn't be his last.

Blood Blade is a page turner that will keep you absorbed from beginning to end.  It is well-written, well-plotted and peopled with interesting characters, most of whom I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley, or a well-lighted one either, for that matter.  Though the book could stand alone, it is essential for the series, as it contains the history of the Skinners, the group which tries to destroy these terrifying creatures. Horror lovers will devour Blood Blade and anxiously await the next one.
