Everything I Know About Business I Learned From My Mama
A Down-Home Approach to Business and Personal Success

by Tim Knox

Before you take that leap into entrepreneurship, you must read Everything I Know About Business I Learned From My Mama. Tim Knox has some exceptional ideas that will help guide you to success, and it's great fun to read. Knox's business ideas are laced with hilarious personal stories gleaned from his own business ventures.

Tim's advice covers the questions of how to choose the right business for yourself, naming your business, shaping up your mental attitude and jumping to the Internet with your business. He has thoughts on managing employees (and likens it to trying to herd cats). He advises never to borrow start up capital from someone who sits across the table from you at Thanksgiving, and his reminders about caring for your customers are spot on.

Tim advises you to do the research first, and make sure you are really ready to be your own boss, and that there is a market for your idea before you start... and if you aren't having fun doing it... then stop. There are many how-to books out there on starting your own business and personal success advice books, but where most of them are pretty dry, this one is actually a pleasure to read, and you can learn a valuable business lesson in every chapter. While the ideas here are not really revolutionary, they are told from the standpoint of experience, and you can certainly benefit from Tim's wisdom as you laugh at the mistakes he's made.

Having operated my own businesses for many years, I would highly recommend this insightful book... I wish I had been able to read it years ago.
