Knitted Flowers
Twenty To Make Series
by Susie Johns
Grow your own flowers in a rather different manner—knit them! Here are twenty
flowers to create and twenty suggestions as to how to use them in this latest entry in the
Twenty To Make series.
This is an ideal book to buy if you (or the recipient) have not long since learned how
to knit and are anxious to actually make something but nothing too large and daunting.
These flowers grow quickly (pardon the pun) and only use the most basic of stitches, and so
are ideal for anybody who wants to get used to following a pattern and to making something
up. They are also great for anybody who has lots of oddments of yarn to finish up, or for
inveterate buyers of odd balls of yarn in sales (i.e. most knitters). The flowers are lovely,
and can be used as pins, corsages, and trimmings for hats and bags, while you are also allowed
to make them to sell for charity. The flowers themselves cover all four seasons, although
sadly there are no Christmas ones. Snowdrops, tulips, zinnias, cherry blossom, lilies, cosmos,
poppies, chrysanthemums and more are covered so there is something for most other occasions.
This is a fun book that is small enough to slip into your knitting bag and would make a great
present. |
