Most every woman loves jewelry, and for those who design it, this book is an inspirational source on creating contemporary classics. Irina Miech provides us with beautiful photographs that show symmetry and repetition, while combining traditional elements to create unique and innovative classical-style jewelry that is so in vogue today.

We are aware of the "greener" attitudes of today, and Ms. Miech uses recycled and modern components, balancing gemstones, pearls, Swarovski crystals, metal elements and other items in designs that reflect classical styles with a modern twist. She provides over 60 designs, showing classic styles, then her "modern" and unique take on the style. Among her designs are an Art Nouveau bracelet, Victorian earrings, a stunning filigree bloom necklace, and my personal favorite, a Cleopatra's necklace.

Whether you are new to jewelry making or a pro seeking a fresh outlook, this book has something for everyone. The author provides useful step-by-step instructions on how to create that antique vintage feel using modern and/or recycled components, in stunning designs reflecting the concepts of symmetry and repetition.

Vintage jewelry is making a comeback, and this book is a great source of creativity for me. I love to design jewelry, but more, I love to repair the broken vintage jewelry I find at estate sales. What I most enjoyed about the book is the wonderful ideas it offers for recycling the broken pieces I could not repair, incorporating them into designs of my own. As a reference and source of inspiration, Classic Style, Fresh Look is a must-have for every person who enjoys making stylish and elegant jewelry.
