This is the third book by those knitting Norwegians to be featured on this site. Check out my reviews for 55 Christmas Balls To Knit and Knitted Dolls in the site archives. Now it is the turn of Easter, and here is a book filled with bunnies, chicks, eggs and more balls, this time with a springtime theme.

By now you will be expecting a lushly illustrated book and yep, this is what you get. Pages are filled with large colorful photos of the projects plus gorgeous shots of them amongst Easter themed memorabilia from what must be a treasure trove of a house. The bunnies and chicks are shown in various poses modeling their outfits, and I can imagine many children being inspired for all sorts of games looking at this book. It is rare to find a whole book full of Easter projects so this is a very welcome addition to any knitter?s library. Aimed at improvers, (this is not a beginner?s book or a book on how to knit) the instructions are mostly in written form with a few charts. There are lots of small projects ? eggs, balls and outfits - that make up fast and use up often quite small amounts of yarn, a fun way of recycling and being thrifty. If you live outside Norway you will probably find getting hold of the exact yarns mentioned (Dale of Norway) difficult, but any knitter worth their salt ought to be able to find an alternative. One thing I particularly enjoyed was reading about how Norwegians spend Easter, a holiday when snow is still on the ground in many places and just before the onset of spring. I look forward to this duo?s next book.
