There
are a great many books of soft toy patterns out there, but
nothing quite like this! Make six different puzzle ball creatures
that can be taken apart and put together again for hours of
fuzzy puzzling fun.
They
are also fairly simple to make for anybody with a bit of toy
making know-how under their belt. Each toy is made from three
interlocking rings and full sized patterns for everything
is provided at the back of the book. At the front are useful
tips for making up, what you need to get and how to work with
fleece. A section showing the general stages common to all
the toys is included too, very helpful as I am sure most people
won’t have made anything quite like this before. The
whole book is illustrated with plenty of large photographed
steps which are simple to follow, as well as a cutting list,
skill level (all are classed as “confident beginner”)
and finished size. There are photographs too of the finished
item taken against a white background as are all the steps,
a good touch and very clear. Choose from bee, elephant, lion,
giraffe, Easter bunny, and my own favorite, the dinosaur.
Some are made from patterned fleece, some from plain, but
all have a neat professional look and finish rather like this
book. I’ve made soft toys since I was a child and thought
there was nothing much new in this line, but I have been proved
wrong with this delightful, easy to follow book.
