Delight family and friends with these fun, easy to make patchwork gifts. Even if you haven’t had a go at this type of craft before, this book has all the information you need to make a whole host of attractive items for the home.

If patchwork has always looked too daunting with its plethora of arcane materials and huge projects, then be reassured that this is not this sort of book at all. On the cover is a cuddly and very colorful owl pincushion and a house-shaped tape measure holder. They both look as if they would be enjoyable and not too hard to make up. This is a book aimed at somebody who is new to patchwork, but who has done sewing before and knows the basics. There are brief instructions on making your own bias binding, adding frills and working with felt to name a few, but this is not a book for the total tyro who is hoping for staged diagrams. Instead you get staged written instructions, plus a page sized photograph of the finished item. There are some innovative and attractive items in here, ranging from pillows, bags and fancy boxes to a pencil case, mug rug, egg cozy and table runner to name a few. All are brightly colored and not too large, with the templates at the back and lots of useful tips. This is an entertaining book that is sure to appeal to anybody who wants to make some pretty and practical gifts.
