You don't have to spend much money on craft materials to make these fun and attractive projects. All you need are some paper strips, a simple tool and a few other basic items to take up the craft of quilling.

Quill an entire zoo with this book, from exotics like elephants, lions and giraffes to farm animals, pets, and familiar wildlife such as a fox, gray squirrel and hedgehog. This slim volume does not give an in-depth course in quilling but points out the basics such as forming coils, shaping them, sticking them and making fringes. Each project tells you what you need to buy (or cut by hand) together with clear written instructions and a picture of the finished animal. On several there is also an alternative to try and are detailed enough to make a good picture, or a special card. Total beginners might find some projects a bit challenging, but a bit of practice ought to enable most people to create something to be proud of. This is a lovely little book that gives a rather neglected craft the modern touch and shows that you don't need to invest in expensive equipment to make something impressive and attractive.
