How-To Books/Tatting

Tatting meets beadwork and the result is four beautiful jewelry sets. This is a pattern book only; tatting instructions can be found elsewhere but several levels of expertise are catered for, including beginners. The lacy style manages to be modern and vintage at once, and is a great way of using up odd beads as well as scraps of lace and chain. Each project has a large photograph of the finished pieces being worn as well as a list of what you need, sizes and difficulty rating. Instructions include photographs and drawn diagrams as well as well spaced written steps but are not as beginner friendly as Search Press’ usual step-by-step style. However, anybody who is confident in at least the basics can make these very attractive sets that comprise necklace and earrings, in one case with a bracelet too. At the back is a page of abbreviations, and there are few useful tips as well, scattered around in the instructions. This is an attractive pattern book that is sure to be used many times.

If you cannot find a good range of tatting materials locally try www.searchpress.com for a list of suppliers plus books on how to tat.
