Use the paper piecing method to make quilts and more for the
fantasy fan in your life. There are sixteen blocks and seven
projects to tackle, featuring mermaids, fairies, a dragon,
unicorn, wizard, castle and more.
This is not a book for beginners, and the
author advises in her introduction that if you haven’t
done this type of thing before, she has written other more
suitable books with easier blocks. If you already know what
to do, then here is a more challenging book for improvers
and up who are ready for some more intricate piecing fun.
At the front there is a list of what you will
need, together with a brief staged refresher course showing
the basics. The rest of the book contains the blocks and projects,
the latter with line diagrams and fairly simple instructions.
These are more than adequate for those au fait with the methods,
and each project also features a helpful cutting list so you
can quickly prepare your fabric. The projects include cushions
and quilts of various sizes, plus a backpack and wall hanging.
Blocks are mostly square with a couple of rectangular ones
so you can exchange the featured block for one of your choice
in any of the projects. This is a lovely book with unusual
and very on-trend patterns.
