Looking
For God in All the Wrong Places
By Marie
D. Jones
Looking
for God in All the Wrong Places is a non-denominational commentary
about mankind's quest for a Higher Power.
According
to Reverend Marie Jones, we often equate people with the Supreme
Being. We give doctors unquestioned authority over our health; put
celebrities on a pedestal; and sometimes blindly follow the clergy.
We
believe some places are closer to God than others. We make pilgrimages
to Mecca; seek healing at Lourdes, France; and swear our own church
or temple is The Almighty's only home.
For
some folks, stuff holds the key to Heaven. We become addicted to
drugs, alcohol, and adrenaline. Our survival hinges on technology
and self-help gurus.
After
she clarifies where, who and what God is not, Reverend Jones offers
guidance on where He is and how we can find Him. The simplicity
of the answer may just surprise some readers.
In
the vein of great social commentators, Reverend Jones uses humor
and wit to convey her heartfelt beliefs. Looking for God in All
the Wrong Places is as interesting as it is informative. The entire
book is exceptional, but Rev Marie earns extra kudos for the eleventh
commandment!
