Your Best Life Now
7 Steps
to Living at Your Full Potential
10th Anniversary Edition: Updated w/ New Chapter & Forward
By Joel Osteen
Read by Joel Osteen
As Joel
Osteen steps out into the world he picks up his father’s torch
(John Osteen). John was a popular pastor. As a father, his son saw
him as a positive, faith-filled man. John’s goal was to cast
a light on his son, not a shadow. And now, with confidence and boldness,
Joel is ready to pass on both his and his father’s lessons
in faith and self-improvement.
Osteen wants
his followers to think and live a positive lifestyle. He wants them
to enlarge their vision and believe God will give them the desires
of their hearts. He also wants them to discover the power of their
thoughts and words. What you think about yourself and talk about
with others can direct your life in a positive or negative way.
Speaking similar to other pastors, Osteen also believes letting
go is one of the best ways to clear up one’s spirit and mind,
that giving is the key to getting and choosing to be happy can make
a big difference in your life.
Osteen believes his
seven steps will improve one’s walk with God and other people.
His guidance is similar to that of other Christian leaders -- Baptist,
Methodist, Independent, and Full-Gospel. No matter the label, the
message is successful in building up lives. At some points I felt
he was nitpicking about one’s Christian walk, such as having
a clean car and returning a product to its aisle when one doesn’t
buy it. (You can pretty much guess my car isn’t always clean
and I give the returned items to the checker.)
Osteen narrates
the audio book. His clear voice, with its slight Texan accent, resonates
with his beliefs and his kindness.
