Running with the Giants
What Old Testament Heroes Want You to Know about Life and Leadership
by John C. Maxwell
Running with the Giants is 90 minutes of concise, powerful teaching. In two CDs
listeners are reminded of life and leadership through Bible heroes such as Noah, Esther,
Moses, Rebekah, Nehemiah, The Servant Girl, David, and more. With each hero a lesson is
taught, such as Esther's being "God has a place for you" and The Servant Girl "One small
act can make a big difference."
Maxwell has a runner (me & you) sprinting around a stadium. As he runs each Bible character
comes and runs with him, sharing his or her story, imparting spiritual assurance and wisdom
to win the race. Maxwell makes the point of showing how each story fits one of the many
situations in your life as a believer and/or a leader.
Having reviewed Maxwell's other audio books, I've come to learn that in these short
lessons Maxwell has much to say. He's organized and prolific. He doesn't waste our valuable
time with long-winded examples or extremely personal accounts. He gets to the heart of the
matter and sends us on our way. That's nice.
The audio version is read by the author himself. His confidence and kindness oozes - with
dignity - from stereo. The nicest thing about Maxwell's audio books is playing them without
earphones. Everyone is bound to learn something. Pass'em on! |
