Best-selling novelist June Cotner has collected a group of poems that permit the reader to see
his situation in life in a better light.
The author uses the idea in Reinhold Niebuhr's "The Serenity Prayer" as the basis for each poem.
The poems cover seven categories: serenity, faith, courage and hope, relaxation, reflections, joy
and gratitude, prayers and inspiration.
Each poem (and prose selection) lifts the spirits and somehow makes happiness in life a little
more attainable.
The size of the book (about the size of 5 x 6 notecard) seems to add to the delicate nature of
the contents. The book is very short and can be read rather quickly, but many, many pages deserve
many more readings and more mediation on the subject matter. This book is a treat for a troubled
soul, and we all have a troubled soul at one time or another.
