Terry A. Smith,
author of Ten-How Would You Rate Your Life? makes an important
status between God and man: God is in control, but He would never
interfere with man's quest to know God even though He always has
that ability. That leaves man with his free will to make choices.
Then the author
uses seven sections to help the reader start and maintain a personal
relationship with God: Awaken, Discover, Imagine, Grow, Act, Lead
and Let's Go There (a good plan for meeting the obstacles of life).
In each of
these sections Smith gives the reader helpful hints on how to accomplish
the needed things in that section. The examples are not some pie-in-the-sky
illustrations but good solid advice that can be followed with the
help of the Creator. The author also provides examples of negative
actions that are to be avoided.
It's not as
if the author came up with his plan and implemented it alone. He
uses quotes from people of various fields to support his method
in each of the seven sections. He includes a section that identifies
the source of these quotes.
Smith's account
of his own life will give readers confidence in using the plan to
reach a relationship with God. There was a time in his religious
life when Smith was anything but a ten.
This is a good
book for those who seek a relationship with God and those who hope
to maintain that relationship.
