A Godward Heart is
well written. Readers can expect short chapters instead of
single page devotions (as in Joyce Meyers’ devotionals).
But each chapter is a quick read as well as easy to comprehend.
You may not agree with everything the author teaches, but
you will enjoy reading his inspirational thoughts because
the goal is Treasuring the God Who Loves You.
A
Godward Heart is a continuation of A Godward Life (books
1 & 2), Pierced by the Word, Life as a Vapor, and
Taste and See. Readers get 50 chapters of the author’s
teachings, with scripture. Piper addresses current day issues
along with the traditional, some being: Suffering and
Pain; Sheep, Wolves, Snakes, and Doves; How Shall We love
Our Muslim Neighbors?; Let Christians Vote as Though Not Voting;
Topple Every Idol; Stereotypes and Racism…
My personal
experience it reading A Godward Heart was peace.
I don’t agree with all Piper has to say, but most of
it resonated with me. I came away with a personal understanding
of myself and others in my life. I feel blessed to have read
some of Piper’s work.
A
Godward Heart has so much to offer Christians that I
have to recommend it.
