New
York Times Bestseller Greater is a great book. Furtick outlines
the reasons why most Christians are feeling stuck in their
relationship with God and their life. It isn’t a book
that sets out a plan to show one how to be a better Christian.
It is also not a self-help. It is a book that shows a serious
Christian how to be greater than just “good enough”.
Realization is the first step. Best-selling author and Pastor,
Furtick draws on the story of Elisha to demonstrate his point.
In other
words, he feels that many people are stuck in cul-de-sac Christianity
and don’t know how to be greater in their life than
they are; so they settle for less. If you are tired of playing
it safe and you are ready to head the call, then this book
will certainly encourage and support you all the way. As Furtick
says, “Do you have enough faith to act on the word of
your Father?” Can you put down the plow as Elisha did
and walk on the word of God? Nothing wasted, nothing gained.
I would
say that this book isn’t for sissies. It takes courage
to give up sentimentality, but the reward is Greater.
