In this
day and age Christians need financial advice, especially our
young people. It's important for Christians to remember God
has given us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our gentle,
dependable guide. He wants to show us that money (earning
and spending) is part of our spiritual walk.
Pastor
Dollar's explains why it's important to recognize the Holy
Spirit's voice when it comes to financial decisions in our
lives. He reminds us of how important it is to obey God's
Word. And the Holy Spirit would never tell us to do something
that is legally wrong such as writing a Hot Check and expect
God to put the money in the account to cover it. It's a given
that one is expected to earn a living. Pastor Dollar also
explains why it's important to be diligent workers and use
wisdom in spending. He shares personal experiences, including
his failures. He shares how he met his wife, being in debt,
buying their first house, and more
. He follows it up
with scripture, which is important in Christian teaching.
There
was only one bit of advice I didn't agree with (and I may
be wrong). Christians believe they shouldn't be unequally
yoked; I get it. Pastor Dollar recommends a mature Christian
avoid a partner who is new in Christ because the level of
experience could cause strife and affect the marriage. I assume
one's faith would guide them
All in
all, it's a persuasive self-help book for Christians who are
looking for sage advice involving money matters.
