If
you are someone willing to admit your bad habits then you
are most likely someone willing to change. And if you are,
Joyce Meyer’s current title is the perfect inspirational
tool.
Meyer
tells us good habits add to our life whereas bad ones take
away or interfere. Her goal is to help us change our habits.
The experts say it takes 30 days to make or break a habit.
Myer tells us how through God’s Word.
Meyer
tells us the first key is to choose a bad habit you want to
kick. Start with a minor habit and it will give you strength
to conquer the next one. We should begin with a list of the
habits we want to break and focus on one habit at a time.
Galatians
5:16 (Amplified Bible)
But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit
[responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then
you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of
the flesh (of human nature without God).
Before
Meyer addresses the 14 Habits she discusses Repetition (forming
the habit), Reprograming Yourself (the subconscious) - slow
down; pay attention. Being Patience with ourselves as we go
through this personal change; Defeating Procrastination, and
getting excited about Conquering Projects (we tend to put
off), Time Management, Priorities, and more…
One bad
habit of mine is “concern”… okay, okay –
“Worry.” I trust in God but when it comes to my
family my concern can quickly turn to Worry… Another
bad habit: doubt. Despite positive feedback from others I
often doubt my abilities and feel a need to prove myself.
Habits 6, 7 and 12 resonated with me.
As always,
Meyer’s teaching includes scriptures, personal stories
and advice. I never fail to learn and grow with Meyer’s
books. Meyer is an anointed teacher. Meyer’s daughter,
Sandra McCollom, narrators the audio version with confidence
and assurance.
