World." - Why I Hate Religion, Creflo Dollar
In Why
I Hate Religion, Dr. Dollars leads Believers off the
path of Religion and on to a personal walk with God. He backs
up his teachings with the Word of God. Dr. Dollar first explains
why he hates religion: "…"religion" portrays
the image of what it defines as godliness but has no power
to back it up." It causes strife among people of all
ethnicities and backgrounds. It is why various denominations
can't get along.
He begins
with the subject of money, and I think some misunderstand
and accuse him of perpetuating guilt or fear from the start.
Not true. The book lists 10 reasons to break free from the
bondage of religious tradition. The reasons begin with number
ten and count backwards through to number one. He gives various
examples of traditional religion and money. One is that some
believe poor equals humble, and that makes them godly. Dr.
Dollar tells us, "The right relationship with money is
the one that honors God." He also addresses religion
and casting judgment, the hierarchy of sin, believers trying
to earn their way to heaven, climbing the mountain instead
of speaking to it, being ignorant to the Word, churches that
become forums for emotionalism and entertainment. And I think
we've heard the many religious clichés, such as, "Turn
it over to Jesus and he'll fix or Jesus will work it out".
Creflo explains, "It's the word that heals and cleanses
and sets people free, not a cliché…." They
need Wisdom from the Word and how to apply it to their circumstances."
He moves on to fear, grace, selfishness, and other topics.
It's pretty fascinating.
In listening
to Why I Hate Religion, I heard the words of a compassionate,
seasoned teacher of God's Word. I have to say, it's one of
Dr. Dollar's better teachings. The kind of teaching that fastens
itself into one's spirit. Paul D. Johnson narrates the audio
version. He offers listeners a strong, motivating narration.
