Measle and the Wrathmonk
by Ian Ogilvy
Measle Stubbs just wanted a chance to have a normal life with his parents....well....as
normal as can be expected when your parents are Wizards. He was enjoying every minute with
them and had almost forgotten the life he had been forced to lead when the Wrathmonk,
Basil Tramplebone, froze his parents in stone and claimed Measle and his "inheritance"
all for his own. Measle had no idea that there were even more Wrathmonks, a scheme to
end all schemes, and that he and his family were to be in the middle of it yet again.
After his dad is cursed with amnesia and his mother is kidnapped, Measle and his Nanny
Flannel must do everything possible to find the Wrathmonks and save his parents, Sam and
Lee. Measle had no idea he would end up encountering a Dragodon....much less a Dragon!
I was in love with the first book of the Measle series, but I have to say I'd cheat
on it with this one. It's incredible! The story is witty and full of mind-tingling suspense,
but has enough cushion and humor so it's like riding a padded slide all the way to the end...
six stories below where it started. The dialogue is to die for, and I found myself hunching
over more and more as I read, proving the theory that good books can suck you into them
if they try hard enough. Measle is at his best, and I love the fact that Ian Ogilvy is
bringing us one of the best children's series I have seen in a long time...including the
infamous lightning bolt scar toting Wizard that shall not be named. Congrats, Ogilvy!
This series is a phenomenal success, and I know I'll be salivating like a wart-infested
Wrathmonk waiting for the next one. |
