Superman Returns
Strange Visitor

by Louise Simonson

Someone is out to get Superman and nothing will stop him if he can help it. A group of Senators who are members of the Senate Select Committee for Extraterrestrials Threat Analysis, and scientist Dr. Emmet Vale, chief of Robotics Research, have plotted and created two things to destroy Superman. These were created so that humankind will be able to defend themselves if a time should come when Superman attacks them. But if Dr. Vale can have his way, he'd destroy Superman as soon as possible. Dr. Vale is crushed after a meteor shower and his brain is put into Metallo, a Kryptonite powered robot. He then comes up with a plan to destroy Superman and programs Bizarro Mark 3, a replica of Superman, to help him with his evil plan.

Superman Returns - Strange Visitor is a great book for mature young readers who like action, comics, and science fiction. I found the story interesting and easy to follow. It was not too complex with history, just enough to let you know what was going on in the book. A young person who didn't know much about Superman would be able to enjoy this book just as much as a fan. Superman Returns - Strange Visitor is a precursor to the summer blockbuster movie coming out this year.
