This wonderful collection of six stories about your favorite aardvark, Arthur, is written and read by Marc Brown,
and it is sure to provide hours of entertainment. The CD begins with a song about Arthur, and the same song
separates each story. Delightful sound effects throughout the stories make them seem like you are right there
along with Arthur, Francine, Buster and the Brain.
The first story is "Arthur's First Sleepover." Buster can't go to sleepovers, but Arthur's mom calls and talks
to Buster’s mom, and she decides to let Buster come. Arthur's sister, D. W., relays the rumors of spaceships in
the area and gives Arthur her camera to catch the photo of an alien for her while the kids are camping in the
backyard. The boys hear Father say "Bedtime"...but not sleep time, and the fun begins. Then, when the boys see
flashing lights that could be a spaceship and their tent collapses....oh, my!
"Arthur's Tooth" is a story which all kids can relate to, when Arthur is the only one in his class who still
has his baby teeth. One of them is loose, but it just won't come out in spite of all the advice he gets from his
friends.
"Arthur's Birthday" party is planned on the same day as Muffy schedules her birthday party. What a dilemma!
Francine has a plan where everyone can go to both parties and won't have to make a choice, but will it work out?
"Arthur's Pet Business" brings him a batch of animals to care for, but how can he prove that he is responsible
enough to have a puppy when one of the dogs gets lost?
"Arthur's New Puppy" is a wonderfully entertaining story about how a new puppy's all night barking, and the
messes he makes create misery for the whole family. Arthur must figure out how to deal with Pal and teach him
to behave.
In "Arthur Writes a Story," Arthur learns what makes a story entertaining after Mr. Ratburn gives the class
a creative writing assignment. Arthur is not sure he can make his story come out the way he wants it to.
Marc Brown knows just how to entertain kids, and there are many interesting family discussion ideas in these
spellbinding stories filled with life lessons. Joining Arthur in his adventures has never been so much fun.
