The Light of Cin

by T. Lee Tabone

In this book, Cin is a Schipperke puppy brought into Aja's life. Aja is an only child who spends a great deal of time alone. When her mother suddenly has the inspiration to allow her to have a puppy, no one is more surprised than Aja.

When she and her mother meet the breeder, Aja is immediately taken by one of the young males, Cin. She is told, however, that he's a show quality puppy, and thus not available. However, later it turns out he is and he goes home with Aja.

Soon Aja becomes aware of the puppy communicating with her telepathically. As she begins to train her young puppy through a local program, she meets Elim and Tess. Elim also has a Schipperke, a pup that is Cin's sister.

Each night Cin leads Aja on journeys through her dreams. Through this relationship, and then with her friends, Aja discovers that she is not truly the child of the people she has always believed were her mother and father. In fact, she's special, with powerful gifts, and she was bargained for by the man who has pretended to be her father. He plans on using her gifts for his own dark plans.

The book has some nice moments in it with Aja and her friends. The dogs are as much characters in the book as the people, and play key roles in the story. Of course things end well, as this is a book for children.
