Postcards From Washington D. C. / Postales Desde Washington D. C.
Traveling with Anna / De Viaje con Ana
Bilingual English/Spanish edition
Postcards series # 3

by Laura Crawford

Raven Tree Press has long recognized the need for quality reading materials in bilingual format because of the growing number of Spanish speaking households in the United States.

This is the third book in the Postcards series by Laura Crawford.  It's great fun to follow Anna on her travels across America.  In this bi-lingual edition, the postcards and storyline are only told in English, with the greeting and ending sometimes in Spanish, but the interesting facts are in both English and Spanish.  The postcards that Anna sends her friend show photos of each interesting location that she visited. Other whimsical illustrations show Anna as she visits interesting sites, including historical monuments and other famous places, and learns facts about them.  Anna's insightful comments about each site add humor to the story.

This book would be a great addition to your homeschool materials to introduce children to geography, social studies, and  a second language. Read this one aloud to share the experience and initiate great discussions. It could also spur research subjects for young students, and would be a great addition to early elementary school libraries.
