Thump, Quack, Moo
A Whacky Adventure

by Doreen Cronin
Illustrated by Betsy Lewin

It is time for Farmer Brown to design his corn maze which is always the centerpiece of the annual Corn Maze Festival. This year Farmer Brown plans to make a Statue of Liberty maze.

All the animals have to pitch in so everything will be completed on time. While the chickens are hammering away building a fence around the cornfield, the cows are giving the barn a fresh coat of paint. Duck has been asked to put together a special ticket booth for the balloon ride but he's not too happy about this task.

In fact Duck is so unhappy that he decides he's going to add a "little something" to Farmer Brown's special, patriotic maze design. Each night, the irascible duck slips out to the field with his clippers to make a few alterations.

When everything is finished and ready for opening day, Duck and Farmer Brown go up in the balloon to view the completed maze. When you flip open the foldout page at the end of the book be prepared (along with Farmer Brown) for a big surprise. Duck has given the Statue of Liberty a very interesting twist!

The Duck series of picture books continues to be a favorite with lots of children. Thump, Quack, Moo will delight young readers as much as Duck's other rollicking misadventures. They'll also have fun trying to find their way out of this very unusual maze.
