Bear's New Friend
Bear Books Series #3

by Karma Wilson
Illustrated by Jane Chapman

For Bear this will be a very special summer day. Bear feels "an itching to head out and play" so he goes to find his friend Mouse. Along the way Bear hears a clatter in a tree. Then something speeds past him going very fast.

Wondering what it could possibly be, Bear, Mouse and his other animal friends investigate. "Who, who, who could it be?" they wonder. Next they discover a hole in the ground and two little eyes peer out of the darkness.

"I'm Bear. Howdy-ho! That's Mouse and that's Hare. And Gopher and Mole are standing right there... Please do not hide. Come on outside," Bear says to the creature hiding in the hole.

Then, with a flourish that surprises everyone, the shy creature emerges. I'm not going to spoil the fun and tell you who their new friend is—you'll have to read the book to find out.

With rounded edges and a glossy coating that means the pages can be easily wiped clean if little fingers soil them, this classic story is now available as a board book. A wonderful tale of friendship and making new friends, your child will make a new friend when he or she discovers Bear and all his loveable, woodland companions.
