Beautiful Moon
Bella Luna

by Dawn Jeffers
Illustrated by Bonnie Leick

What would happen if we had long days that never ended, and no nights? This little girl's wish comes true, as with a smile and a wink, the moon grants her a day that doesn't end.

She swims, and plays and eats until she is exhausted.  Then she notices that even the trees are drooping with fatigue, and begins to understand that the nighttime comes to give everything a chance to cool off and rest.

The adorable illustrations by Bonnie Leick provide a wonderful visual accompaniment to the bilingual story.  I especially liked the cute bunny that shares the adventure with the little girl.

The full text is in both English and Spanish, and is an exciting way to introduce a second language to your child. A vocabulary sheet in the back of the book gives the English and Spanish words used in the story. Beautiful Moon, Bella Luna would be a welcome addition to the elementary school library. At home it would be a great read aloud story at bedtime or family time or use the book as a curriculum addition that the kids will enjoy for home school.
