Four Friends at Christmas

by Tomie de Paola

Here's a wonderful, whimsical tale about a group of friends who are determined to share the holidays together.

The problem is that Mister Frog usually goes into hibernation and sleeps through Christmas. Since his friends, Missy Cat, Master Dog and Mistress Pig, have described how wonderful the holiday season is, this year Mister Frog is going to try to stay awake for it.

Unfortunately, the "little nap" Frog decides to take almost ruins his Christmas. However, his good friends won't let the fact Froggy overslept ruin the day. All three, decked out in Santa suits, descend on Mister Frog's house with all the trappings to make this the best Christmas ever. For Mister Frog it is not only his first and most memorable December 25th, but it is also the first time he is awake for the festive day.

The holiday season is all about giving and sharing. This special story emphasizes for readers between the ages of three and six how important it is to gather together with friends and family during the Yuletide season.
