Horace and Morris Say Cheese
(Which Makes Dolores Sneeze!)

by James Howe
Illustrated by Amy Walrod

Why is Dolores sneezing and breaking out in itchy spots? It is really quite simple. The doctor told the little mouse she is allergic to cheese! Oh dear, now that's a serious problem. Cheese, any kind of cheese, is Dolores' favorite food.

What's the poor mouse going to do?  Will she be faced with eating peanut butter sandwiches for the rest of her life? Not even her friends, Horace and Morris, are much help. Dolores will have to figure out this situation for herself. Being a resourceful rodent, that's just what Dolores does and in doing so, she discovers something really earthshaking—there's more to life than just cheese!

Not only will this third picture book in the popular series by James Howe delight young readers ages 4 to 8 who have followed Horace, Morris and Dolores' other misadventures, but it also addresses a problem some children have to contend with. What do you do if you discover you have an allergy? Dolores' clever approach may give young readers a few ideas about how to make a difficult situation acceptable.
