Where Is Home, Little Pip?

by Karma Wilson
Illustrated by Jane Chapman

Little Pip has been warned by his parents not to wander too far away from home, but one day the small penguin decides to chase a glittery black feather.

Before you can say, "Burrrrrr it is cold out here!" Little Pip wanders so far away from her family that she is hopelessly lost. Not even a gigantic Blue Whale nor a Kelp Gull nor a team of sled dogs can help the lost penguin find her way home.

Fortunately, just when things are looking pretty desperate and Pip is shedding big penguin tears her parents find her. Wondering where their home is Little Pip discovers home isn't always a place but it is where ever your mom and dad are. The message here is quite simple. When you are little it is a very good idea to listen to your folks and stay close to them. If you do so you'll always be close to "home" as well.
