The Patterson Puppies and the Midnight Monster Party
by Leslie Patricelli
Every night
when Petra goes to bed she’s afraid of the dark, strange noises,
and, most of all, the monster. Even though her parents tell her not
to worry because her three siblings are sleeping in the same room,
the little puppy still wakes up in the middle of the night.
Even when Petra takes all her stuffed animals to bed to guard her,
she’s still scared. Finally, Penelope, Zack, and Andy decide
to help their sister. With their mother’s help they make a batch
of cookies to leave out for the monster, and when he comes for them,
they’ll confront him (or her)!
The puppies wait out that night and what they encounter is quite a
surprise. The next morning the living room is quite a mess.
In fact, it looks like someone had a party. Hmmm, very strange!
Turning fear into fun is what this picture book is all about, so if
your youngster is convinced there are monsters hiding under his bed
or in her closet, give this story a try! |
