Children and
adults will love the latest pop-up book from Robert Crowther. The
fifth volume in his “transportation” series, the machines
featured here include a tractor, huge dump truck, forklift, bulldozer
and tower crane.
In addition
to the main pop-up, each section includes interactive parts that
can be used with the featured machine. For example, there are boulders,
planks, bricks and logs that can be loaded onto the back of the
yellow dump truck. The truck’s bed is also moveable so the
child can lift it, discharging its contents. Now, how cool is that?
You’ll
also find a fold out section for each machine that not only gives
information about how it is used but also shows color pictures of
similar equipment. For example, the tractor is accompanied by photos
of a combine harvester, sugar cane harvester, cotton picker and
a self-propelled sprayer.
An interactive
book your child (and perhaps you too!) will enjoy playing with over
and over again. Remember that pop-up books are not meant for rough
treatment so handle this one carefully. Also, the small pieces in
the pockets do pose a choking hazard so keep the volume away from
any child who insists on putting things in his or her mouth.
