Dare you visit Creaky Castle when the day becomes the night?
Dare you find out what’s inside? Are you ready for a fright?

Thus begins this delightful picture book with its rhymed verses and surprises galore. From the castle gates to the various rooms inside the denizens are waiting to greet you, but in order to see them you will need to lift flaps, open doors and cupboards, even a toilet seat! This is a fun interactive book that is sure to become a firm favorite with young children of both sexes especially at Halloween. There is plenty to talk about on each page to encourage growing imaginations and much to amuse, from the fang paste in the bathroom cabinet to the dragon cooking sausages, the bowl of eyeballs in the kitchen to the trio of coffins to open up. Every page is fully illustrated with bright, large format pictures filled with things to look at; I can also imagine schools using it as a starting point for more stories or drama. I particularly like the wipe-clean glossy pages, which are thick enough to withstand an onslaught by little hands…lots of fun for a reasonable price.
