This tender bedtime story features a mother polar bear and her
cub. And, as with so many little ones, the cub loves to ask “why”
questions before he falls asleep.
Why is there a moon up in the sky? Why do we dream? Why are there
stars in the sky? Every one of these questions is answered by the
patient Mama Bear who knows she’s not going to get her little
cub off to sleep until his curiosity is satisfied.
With the answer of the last question the Mama Bear says, “So
now, little one, let’s rest our heads, and dream moonbeams
in a stardust bed. I’ll dream of my dearest the whole night
through.”
Of course, this elicits one final question: “Mama, who?”
asks the cub.
Mama whispers softly, “You.”
The lyricism of this gentle story and its heartwarming illustrations
will make this a book your child will want you to read aloud to
him or her time and time again. Obviously, it is the perfect “tuck-me-in”
story to read just before “Lights out!”.
